LIP FILLER
What is it?
It is an aesthetic procedure that can be performed by a doctor or dentist, which consists of increasing, defining the contour and shaping the lips. In addition, it can be done to correct asymmetries and eliminate wrinkles in this region, depending on the patient's needs and desires.

Botulinum Toxin X Filler with Hyaluronic Acid
Contrary to what many people imagine, Botulinum Toxin is not used for filling!

The function of Botulinum Toxin is to cause relaxation of a certain muscle, preventing the formation of wrinkles.
The Filler has the function of giving volume and attracting water to a certain region.
What's the type? What do you use to fill in?
Although there are other substances, the safest and most recommended for filling is Hyaluronic Acid – a substance that is found in the body itself, so it is almost impossible to generate any adverse reaction.

How is done?
After asepsis and disinfection of the skin, Hyaluronic Acid is injected with needles or microcannulas, depending on the professional's preference, and is subsequently modeled through massages, so that it fits better in the applied region.
To prevent swelling and bruising, a cold compress can be used after application.

It hurts?
There may be discomfort when applying the Filler, from mild to intense, depending on the sensitivity of each patient.
To avoid this, an ointment with a topical anesthetic is usually applied under the skin, prior to the procedure. If topical anesthesia is not enough, the dentist - and only him - can anesthetize inside the patient's mouth, leaving the region of interest completely numb during the entire procedure.

Contraindications (who can't do it?)
This procedure is contraindicated for pregnant women, carriers of autoimmune diseases, patients with systemic diseases not compensated by medication (such as diabetics who are not treated), patients with active herpes, active acne or some other type of injury or infection in the region.

Is it permanent or reversible?
It's reversible! Over time, Hyaluronic Acid is reabsorbed by the body, and that's what makes it so safe.
Acid can take up to 1 year to be completely reabsorbed, depending on the organism of each patient.
Furthermore, if, after the end of the procedure, the patient is dissatisfied, this Filler can be removed immediately using a substance called Hyaluronidase (applied by the professional).

Is there any risk?
The main risk is that the result is not as expected by the patient. This occurs mainly when it is performed with substances that are not absorbable by the body.
In addition, it is essential to carry out a consultation prior to the procedure, talk to the professional, discuss the case, take pictures, take measurements, so that the professional and the patient can, together, better understand the needs and possibilities of this treatment.

What is the price?
It is impossible to quote a generic, equal value for all cases, because each patient has a different physiology and interests in the same procedure. But the average ranges from around 1,000 to 5,000.
